Who is Emergency Educators?

Founded in 2005 by healthcare professionals for healthcare professionals, Emergency Educators, LLC celebrates fifteen years of excellence as a regional leader providing an all-hazard, integrated approach to emergency preparedness needs, in an increasingly unpredictable environment.

As a small business enterprise, Emergency Educators provides emergency management mitigation, comprehensive planning, training, and exercise evaluation services to healthcare and industrial clients.

The team at Emergency Educators has seventy-five years of combined practical experience and education in emergency and critical care medicine, emergency management, homeland security, law enforcement, and tactical operations. Our consultants help develop need-based exercises to test client capabilities; detailed class and exercise feedback leads to client-focused results.

Founder Michael Whalen, RN is backed with twenty years of hospital experience, from nursing to EMS liaison to ACLS-PALS Program Coordinator. Since founding Emergency Educators in 2005, Whalen has also worked as Health and Medical Chair for the East Central Task Force (2010-2012) and as a Master Instructor at the Center for Domestic Preparedness (2012-2014).

In addition to his role as President of Emergency Educators, Whalen currently serves as Senior Medical Advisor for the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) Pennsylvania Alternate Care Site COVID-19 task force. Working with local, State, and Federal partners, the Alternate Care Site Task Force is assigned to develop 5,000 non-traditional patient beds—to decompress hospitals during the COVID-19 event.

From healthcare systems to nursing homes to non-profits, Emergency Educators is proud to work with clients across Pennsylvania and the Mid-Atlantic region. Our clients include Geisinger Health System, North East PA Health Care Coalition, and Shore Memorial Hospital.
